I watched the movie 'King of Kong' for the first time last night. It was pretty great, and I highly recommend seeing it if you haven't already. You might even shed a little tear.
The below youtube video serves as a perfect metaphor for my life right now based on the news I just received from the clinical supervisor at temple...which is that instead of starting my diagnostic field practicum in the fall semester (as was planned) I will instead be doing this starting NEXT MONDAY.
Here is a key for the video in case there is any confusion:
Scary Puppet Show=Diagnostic Clinical Course
Scared Kid=Me
Older Brother=Shannon
I am so scared that the idea of banging a plastic chair against my head doesn't sound half bad right about now.
I am so happy right now I really could cry, I really could.
Just saw that I got a 94 on my Audiology final which really just saved my life. I'm not going to have to take this class over now! Thank the sweet lord!
Lovely.
Now I feel more motivated to study for Neuro today. Coffee time starts now!
PS. Not to knock this song/video, because I love this lady, but doesn't it kinda seem like she is playing in the cafeteria section of ikea? Just sayin.
I think Katie Sketch is completely amazing and I can't help wishing I could write songs like her. I wish I could find more info on her new band, Mermaids. It stinks when you get into a band AFTER they have already broken up. The Organ is on my list of bands-I-would-have-liked-to-have-seen-before-they-called-it-quits.
Here's the only thing I can find on the internet concerning Mermaids:
Also such a good one. I wish they had a website or tour dates or something!
I have come to the following biting realization after hours of scholarly research and heartbreaking discovery on the topic of owls (which may or may not have been specially requested by the zoo):
Some baby owls are cute.
And some...not so much.
"Not. Again."
"Yeah that's right baby, I just don't think this is gonna work out..."
"I'll pop a cap in his ass..."
The really sad thing is that I could do this sort of thing all day.
