Merry X-Mas

I think the organ(?) music in this video short might be the best part, but it's also a little bit creeeepy...

Hey I like trains, too!

I hope it snows on Christmas Eve.

Be good!

Cool

I just learned that if I said each letter in my particular DNA string, 1 letter per second, it would take me a century to finish!!

Also, I love earplugs.

Blocking out the cries of stinky kittens and cell phone blatherings (not a real word?) from the next room...oh how I love thee!

Oddities

Last night I woke up twice in a half-sleep laughing hysterically (mmm...maybe not hysterically but definitely full-on laughing). I have no idea what was so funny about my dream(s?), but I have a sneaking feeling that one of them had to do with a conversation I was having with my dad.

On a totally unrelated note, it snowed in Philadelphia today! And strangely enough, the smell reminded me of ski-club (think cold + bus exhaust). Weird.

I'm a terrible person.

Word to the Wise...

It MIGHT NOT be a good idea to eat an entire bag of milano cookies, and then in an attempt to assuage your guilt, dance around your bedroom to various hit songs from the 80's/90's AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Just sayin'.

Don't forget: Cookie time isn't always a pretty business.

Oh Sweet Pumpernickle

I have been so busy the last few days. I haven't had one peaceful moment to myself. Its really been one constant swirling cloud of cat hair around here...you know, getting papers in order, filing important documents, shuffling things around my desk...um, other stuff. I'm sure you can relate. So anyway, in this blog post I will be addressing several pressing matters that have been stifling my creative outputs this past week.

1. Jack O' Lanters:

Can you guess which is mine? Hint: It may or may not have a snaggle tooth. Also, make sure to take notes on the pumpkin in the middle. Natalia whipped up this little gem--Yes, it's the amazing Obama Jack o' Lantern. Look and learn, child'ns. Look and learn.

(The one on the far right is Sarah Palin---teehee!)

2. Something Scared Me Today:

To be honest though, I wouldn't be opposed to having a nightmare featuring Scary Mary...on TWO conditions: 1. It will replace any and all dreams I've been having related to Alveolar Fricatives and the cursed Glottal Stop. I can't take it anymore! And 2. I can have a lightsaber to defend myself.

And Finally,

3. Confused Dog Fights for Freedom:

Well, as my grandpap used to say, "Pork chop time's over." Back to eavesdropping on my drunk neighbor who is sitting on her stoop. Maybe I shall draw a cartoon so you can have a better mental picture.

A Halloween Music Video

...By your's truly, featuring Gnarls Barkley's "The Boogie Man." It's not really one of my best videos/doesn't really make sense, but it's the first one I've made since 'Family Dinner' a few years ago, and I was also half watching ANTM cycle 10 whilst making it. D'oh.

PS. Now that I have figured out how to sync my camcorder and computer, and sort-of use iMovie08, there should be more videos to come. Stay tuned for: "What Happened When My Cat Found the One Ring of Power" and "The Legend of Pumpkin Annie"

Word of the Day

Nalmost
/ˈnɔlmoʊst/; (Nawl-mohst) : adverb. Meaning, 'No, almost.'
-"Is this the end [of Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix]?"
-"Nalmost."

I'd say it's about high time for some swiss miss.

Where Have All the Cheezballs Gone?

Yesterday I went to the grocery store, which was pretty uneventful (besides entering the Shoprite raffle to win a luxurious flower arrangement--keep your fingers crossed!), and once again was disappointed by the lack of one particular snack that should be located in the chip aisle: Planter's Cheezballs. Ah, so many fond memories of sitting in Kate's basement, playing scooby doo on nes and scarfing cheezballs like there was no tomorrow (the Bogolog's always had the best snacks).

Where is this snack?!

And then today, as I was innocently walking home from class, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a pile of smashed cheeseballs on the side walk. What a waste. Could these be the coveted Planter's variety that I have been searching for??? Probably not, I'm sure they were some crappy 90 cent rip off (because obviously no one in their right mind would intentionally leave planters on a sidewalk of Temple campus, right?), but still, it broke my heart.

UPDATE: I have discovered that this snack has been discontinued. If you care about America, you will sign this petition to bring them back:

More Halloween Treats

When we were kids, my sister and I always used to watch the Disney special, "A Halloween Treat" before we went trick or treating. It was one of my favorite parts of the whole night! I remember this particular tv program to be soooo good that I bought the official vhs of it off of Amazon last year. But what did I find when I finally recieved it???? The BAD version with the pumpkin host! It is still acceptable (I guess) but I was really hoping for the good version that I remember watching as a kid that had the magic mirror from Snow White as the host. Sigh.

Anyway, I found one of the best cartoons from that program on you tube. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside like a toasted little furby. I also found the second video which is a snippet from the DV TV special "Monster Hits." Score!

Trick or Treat:

Whoa, Spooksville or What?!

Check out Clarissa in this sick ep of AYAOTD?! As Kristen would say, I've got a "massive case of the shivers!" This one's got all the workings of a truly frightful ghost story:

1. Clarissa is missing a potential snaggle tooth (shudder)
2. The hoity-toity way these Canadian raggamuffins pronounce their vowels (i.e. 'sore-y' for 'sorry')
3. Satanic old hags acting mysterious (self-explanatory)
4. A ghost in silk pajamas (really?)
Yesss, I'm getting the spooks already!

PS. Which midnight society member did YOU have a crush on??? Sup David! *wink*

Pure Genius

This is my new favorite music video.

The best part is when Arab's eyes turn into stars and shoot lightning bolts.
