Quick Break

Cue bad-mood style music.

Don't you ever have days when you just want to smash it?

Thank goodness for sonic youth.

Let's Get Dangerous

For some unholy reason my parent's house has a near infestation of these terrible, miniature alien creatures that lurk in the darkest of corners and prey on unsuspecting and sleepy bystanders.

My dad calls 'em stink bugs.

Yes, apparently because they smell terrible if you squash them so BEWARE!

Just now, one circled above my head coming CLOSER and CLOSER (not unlike a helicopter spiraling to its fiery doom), trying desperately to land its little alien-like self as close to my FACE as possible, and I was only able to dodge it by mere centimeters at the LAST SECOND.

It was a difficult feat, and I almost knocked over my M.O.M (Mug O' Milk), so I'm sure you can imagine my apprehension and terror at the thought of actually trying to SLEEP in this place.

All I'm saying is, be on the lookout friends.

You don't wanna get skunked.

What a Poppet

Baby animals sleeping could solve almost any problem, maybe.

The two exceptions at the moment being:

1. The empty tin can that is my stomach paired with invisible dinner

And

2. A mild yet recurring guilt trip that I will blame on school work

Sounds like the only real, yet unattainable cure is cheese and a marathon LOTR viewing.

Or the Zach Morris time-out power.

Think of the possibilities!

It Exists!

When I was a little kid I stayed home sick from school this one day, and my mom brought this video home from the Hunterdon County Library for me. And I remember it was really weird and there was this song about chicken soup with rice, which really pleased me at the time because I was eating some Campbell's soup and it was awesome. Anyway...I used to wonder if this video actually existed or if I just had a dream and made it up.

Oh, Carol King.

There are some unfortunate animation choices in this video...and the dialog doesn't match up to the character's mouths...but I guess that didn't really bother me then so I'll let it slide.

I don't know why I get such a kick out of watching old cartoons from my childhood.

ps. I am totally eating chicken & rice soup right now heh heh I'm a nerd.

Kiss the Bottle

I am seein a band with Val and Alexis this Friday night and I don't know anything about them except that they cover jawbreaker's 'kiss the bottle.' So I'm stoked.

Oh man I love this so much!

Where's Waldo

Here are some pics I found of the Comet Gain show:

Cute!

Can you find me?

Where's Adrian??

She Taught Me How to Sing

Yesterday when my sister and I were driving home for Easter we were listening to a mix that her old bf made her and mirah came on. And I really just felt very grateful that I first started listening to her while I was in highschool in Flemington. Cause driving around back roads listening to 'You Think It's Like This But Really It's Like This' was pretty special.

I think it is cute and kinda endearing when she messes up

Sorry it gets cutoff.

Why does her guitar sound so pretty???

So Gross

Meghan, if you are reading this, don't look at this video!

I hate possums but kind-of love talking about how disgusting they are.

Happy Easter!

Fists in My Pocket, Sinkin into the Sea

I'm going to see Comet Gain this Thursday at KFNT....I hope they play my favorite song! Probably not, knowing my luck but we'll see. Here's some videos, I couldn't find 'Brothers Off the Block' though. Rats.

I Bet He Gets All The Girls

1. This guy is (was? no matter) the air guitar WORLD CHAMPION
2. He is wearing a sweatshirt with a giant tiger on it

Despite his horrible song choice, I think that the above two factors may prove my hypothesis that this guy gets all the ladies.

He better watch out for this kid tho:

Dude, if this kid just purchased this shirt...

...he'd be the one gettin all the girls.

Phew

Today was pretty okay. I gave therapy for the FIRST TIME EVER and I actually think I did a pretty good job. I'll tell you though, I was reallly reallly nervous and felt like I might ralph during the whole walk from my car to Weiss Hall. I know there will be plenty more times when I'll feel completely scared and unprepared, but for now I feel good about what I'll be doing in the future (because really for a second there I was starting to think I might not be cutout for all of this).

In other news, the skirt I ordered from modcloth arrived in the mail today. I felt like a cupcake with sprinkles on it when I tried it on.

Now I just need to get invited to an old-fashioned dance party.

yeah boyee

I Love This:

Me and Jill

"We had just left shore when everything began to happen at once. The water came in and we started to go down. I looked to Jill and she looked back, thinking it would be alright to go down. Then the railings broke and the motors went. The hall emptied out, no-one left for the band. The amps all wet, speakers burst. Everything soaked. We, up three flights, tried to meet up with the galley crew but it seemed everyone had gone. We had a smoke to pass some time. Jill said 'I'd love to, right now.' What could I say? We did while the waters rose, licking our feet. It was fun and funny so we laughed. I loved the way she could laugh. So full bodied.

When we hit the sky we were high over the rooves, a field of gnarled antennae coiling upwards at our feet. Waves and waveforms joining in a nice hot blast. So different from the boat. The cold silver sky opened, and we passed through.

Last time I saw Jill she was heading backwards into the coils of the antennae, laughing, so beautiful. Saying she hadn't yet had her fill of the boys there and the electricity. Saying she wanted to plug in again and fry a bit. I said 'Watch the water love...' She kept laughing and shook her hair. She said, 'I'd love to right now, you know?' So we did and had a smoke too and her lips parted. There in amongst the coiling snakes of the antennae she looked right at home. The waves came up and a blinding flash caught me dreaming of her as she looked all crossed with wires and spikes watching the blast. Everything went orange and my thoughts dissolved in the cloud. I thought one last: how different from the sea is the boat..."
