Wowzers*
(*Alternate title: 'My Krunky Review of Avatar')
Whoa boy. Thanks to mom and dad for taking my sister and I to see the movie, Avatar, in IMAX 3D last night. No really, I mean it. I've never seen a movie in IMAX 3D, and I must admit, it was pretty cool.
But as for the actual movie itself, I couldn't help thinking about how somewhat(?) similar it was to the following mash-up of some older classic gems...
Meets,
"Oh, why excuse me, sir"
Meets...
...Something else? Bwerdunno, I got nothin.
With A LOT of 90's inspired flute music...
(Think: Lion King)
"Ahhhh Sinwenyaaaa Badabishimamamoooo"
"Floooooooooooooot!"

We Got Blasted
...with snow, that is.
I'm not sure what the official numbers were, but it was definitely over a foot of snow, and TWO Septa buses got stuck outside my house overnight.
In other blasted-related news, my friends from California are home/coming home for Christmas, and we've scheduled a boozey reunion to be held at Sugar Mom's this Wednesday night!
I'm so excited to see them, I've missed them so much!!! I'm making some special welcome-home treats for them today.
If all goes well, this reunion might get a little rowdy...
Be on the look-out for a crew of haggard kids, quoting Caged Fury and causing general silliness on the pool table!

Get Cracklin'
Today is my last day of school for the semester. All my finals have been turned in, all reports have been signed, filed, and sent out. And now all that is left to do is to sit in a room from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm and then I shall be released!
Perhaps my excitement would be better demonstrated by a montage of images. And since I don't have that capability, this will have to suffice:
"They're all...for me?!"
YEAH Ronnie Lott!
A-hem. In the meantime, there's presents to wrap, rooms to clean, x-mas cookies to bake, and Stevie's to tend to.
PS. I pledge to NOT sit on my bum all day during my time off, and am preparing ideas for "Meet The Stevers: Part Deux." In case you are unfamiliar, here's the original:
Weeee!

Forests and Trees and stuff....
I'm thinking about taking a trip up to Massachussets during my time off for Christmas break. I have so much that I want to do during this next month, but I think it would be nice to just be up there for a few days and take a hike through the mountain forest me and meghan got lost in last time (dont worry, this time I'll take a map!)
Maybe there is a nice little bed and breakfast there, too?
I will definitely have to ask meggie for her advice on which places to go to! But all in all I'm feeling excited for this little getaway!

A Christmas Miracle
Last night something spectacular happened. My sister and I decided to order sushi, and when I called the local sushi restaurant they said they weren't delivering tonight. "Rats," I thought. But we decided to bundle up and brave the cold, and walk over to the restaurant to pick up the sushi.
Of course I lost my gloves from last year, so I decided to rummage around my desk to see if I could find my gloves from my Link costume from last Halloween. While I did not find those particular gloves, I DID find the fugly pair of gloves that I received for Christmas last year from one of my relatives. I guess I just threw them in my desk last Christmas, because I'm pretty disorganized and usually end up throwing shit in my desk that I don't really want to deal with.
"Ooh la la"
Well, as I stuck my hand into one of the fugly-ass gloves from last Christmas, I felt something crinkly. What did I find, you ask..........?
.....
.........
A ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL!!!! YEAH BOYEEEEE!
Of course I had to perform a little jig for my sister and unsuspecting roommates, who looked upon my jig with bewildered amusement, until I told them of my Miraculous Christmas Tale.
"It's all about the benjamin, baby"
The moral of the story? Always check your Christmas presents for hidden cash. And if you don't, remember to KEEP YOUR FUGLY GIFTS, and prepare for a delightful surprise in another year!

Flakes, Flurries, Swirls, Crystals!
It's the first snow of the season! And I'm eating chicken soup with rice! And toast with (fake) butter! and studying. But no matter! Before catching a nice big wiff of the "philly stink" this morning, (aka, philly sewer smell), Adrian said that it smelled like snow today.
It made me think of this Gilmore Girls episode (shut up!):
"It's just my favorite time of the year, the whole world changes color...hot coco, hot totties, best time of the year!"
Yay!

The Final Stretch
It's that time of year again, when all the work in the world falls upon the last two weeks before Christmas vacation. And the only thing standing in the way of you and a delectable Christmas feast, presents, and boozey-warm fuzzies are a few large, looming projects that seem impossible to complete.
This weekend I will be locked up in the library with lots of caffeine, and will hopefully make a big dent in the three very large and daunting final projects I have to do before x-mas break.
It's so hard because all I really want to do is CLEAN MY FREAKIN HOUSE and decorate Christmas trees and bake treats! (and smooch Adrian hehe)
UG!
"I know I can do it!"

No Time for Losers
I am copying Adrian with this blogpost, but I am just so proud of us for running the pool table ALL NIGHT at Sugar Mom's on Saturday night.
That's right, many fools stepped up to the challenge and they all lost to our supreme pool-playing skills (er, except ONCE when we lost...but don't worry we beat those guys on a second try). Some challengers were pretty terrible, but we actually played two pairs of doods who were really good (and we schooled 'em!). We even made some friends in the process (and maybe a few enemies on account of my feisty behavior...doh!)
But I have to give credit where credit is due, and that's to my PIC (i.e. Partner In Crime), Adrian, who was the real hero of the night. I was messing up shots left and right, but good ole' Adrian was continually consistent and played like a true Champion.
Cheers, Adrian!
(He's handsome AND he can play pool? Swoon!)
Sunday afternoon was also a pool-playing tournament of sorts, except this time it was homie vs. homie. Me and Adrian played for some pretty high stakes and the title of "Champion of the World" over at North Bowl...needless to say, I now owe him two home cooked dinners.

PS.
As I am making this little x-mas mix, I just thought I'd share that this, for some reason unbeknownst to me, is by far my favorite record to drink drinks with:
I'm getting A LOT of school work done today.
I'm getting A LOT of school work done today.
Holiday Cheer
I'm making an x-mas mix, chock full of songs to listen to while you splash yr egg nog around and decorate the Christmas tree! Have I mentioned that I LOVE Christmas?! Whew.
If anyone would like a copy, let me know!
PS. So far none of the songs are Christmas related at all! I'm just thinking of some good jams that I'd like to jam out to while decorating the Christmas tree slash sip the 23 year-old bottle of rum my dad's been saving for x-mas eve....yeah boyeee!
(Dat's Pops)
PS. I also can't wait for the Stevie-Pow reunion...

Buzz...Your Girlfriend...Woof
There is a gang of construction workers sitting near me in the coffee shop right now talking about various construction-related things...and one of them sounds exactly like Joe Pesci's character from Home Alone...I'm afraid that if I look over there I'll see this...
"Eh, but it's cawst effective!"
"Boo!"
Ah, I love that movie. And it's almost time for my yearly viewing!
Okay, back to work, raggamuffins.
(rats!)
PS. ANOTHER group of construction workers came into the coffee shop, and they are going on about their wives, co-workers, and other friends right now like a bunch of gossiping hens! It's pretty funny to hear these big doods gossip like a bunch of bored housewives. teeheehee...

Tip O' Thee Day:
Put on a dreamy, summery record to counteract depressive effects of dreary, dismal days.
